RDM's Paul Feldman makes the case for a democratic revolution in the UK and warns about another financial crisis. In the light of the current Parliamentary crisis, this is worth viewing. https://t.co/1DEQEerScx
That 3 Tories can join the so-called Independents of Umunna and co shows how reactionary Labour quitters are. Also indicates, however, a potential break-up of the present Parliamentary system based on representation. Labour should aim to remake democracy to empower the people.
The fact that seven MPs elected solely because they were members of a particular party can resign and not have to face re-election sums up the rotten nature of our political system. Democratic revolution anyone?
Basically the PLP (which has far too much power) as a whole is out of step with the membership as well as the leadership. The split by the Gang of Seven should be an opportunity to remake Labour into a democratic socialist party with a modern, non-hierarchical constitution.
