A shot across the bows of global capital – Frank Hayes

And so, it seems, the British brand of turkey has grown tired of voting for Christmas! Battered by the Tory brand of Austerities, betrayed by successive versions of “Labour” Blairism, now it’s being abused by a fake brand of “left” which blames the victims for all the consequences and misery imposed by “free” market economics.

A harried population has put a shot across the bows of both aggressive globalised capitalism and also, those reformist would-be “lefts” whose real aim has always been to save capitalism from itself and keep it going indefinitely, grasping at anti-Marxist Keynesianism and post-modernism as they scrabble around creating weird and un-wonderful images inside their heads.

And that is the real point. In the real external world, capitalism’s deep crisis of immense indebtedness, globally retarding investment, and total political bankruptcy, is in an objective process where a deteriorating system is now devouring itself.

UNDERSTANDING CHANGE
As the fathers of scientific socialism explained, nearly two centuries ago, things (including the capitalist system) come into being, have a living existence in which they develop in a contradictory fashion, and eventually will pass away, in a process of uninterrupted transformation. This is not a linear process, but one where gradual quantitative change within the phenomenon gives rise to a sudden qualitative change (a leap).

As V.I. Lenin explained to his students, there can be twenty years when you might not observe one day of significant change, and then, one day comes along when you can observe twenty years of change. And if you don’t know this, or are in denial about it, you may well be overtaken by sudden unexpected events, upheavals, and unintended consequences.

CONTRADICTION
The present contradictions of capitalism in its ultimate globalised form and period of development, are moving towards an inevitable tipping point of transformation, and they do so in their own contradictory way, full of self-created motion, through materially conflicting energies and tendencies, partial transformations, changes of appearance and always, that contradictory relationship between appearance and essence. This is the movement of human social history understood scientifically.

Its a dynamic and dialectical process in which individual human beings, and mankind as a species, and both conscious and unconscious human thought all play a part.

But in their dismay, those dedicated rejecters of Marxism find themselves led into a misty swamp of misunderstanding and misapprehension. These fake lefts now blame the workers for kicking Cameron and his gang with a vote for Brexit. This development has upset their neat little fixed view of the world. But the Tory’s are tearing their party apart, anyway!

THE FAKE LEFTS
These arrogant fakers have now transformed themselves into their own opposite – they have become a part of the problem, instead of fighters for a revolutionary alternative solution to Capitalist Austerity and decay. The false narrative they’ve created inside their heads has been shattered by real material events in the real material world.

To paraphrase a desperado, “It’s the system, stupid”!

Brexit is a symptom and not the cause of the financial mayhem about to demolish the illusionary “recovery” in what they believed to be a “recoverable” capitalist economy. It is, in fact, just one of the partial effects emerging in a whole objective process of systemic decay.

THE CONTRADICTION BETWEEN
SUBJECTIVE THOUGHT AND OBJECTIVE MATERIALITY
However, subjective idealist thinkers – now in particular, it seems, some of those who “believe” themselves to be “left”, but remain actively hostile to scientific socialist theory, practice, dialectical materialist philosophy and methodology, are painting themselves (as usual) into a very small corner from which they abuse a struggling population which they refused point blank to defend.

What an awful disappointment these political refuseniks really are! Clueless about the real processes exploding dialectically into reality all around them, they remain stubbornly stuck in the muck of their own formal thinking.

REALITY
In reality, a whole new period of class struggle is opening up before human society. One in which the social majority of humanity begins to challenge the hegemony of a minority class of capitalist rulers, who arrogantly claim they “own” the world, its resources, and even the labour power of the mass of humanity whom they exploit, massively, mercilessly, and systematically.

SHAKING OFF SHACKLES
The stupidity of these fake lefts has its origins in the bourgeois ideological war on science, perpetrated by well-paid reactionary academics alongside equally well-paid reformist illusion spinners, who obstruct the scientific truths and approaches which could identify the real contradictions driving a new moment of emerging social motion.

For the people are on the move! Their vast collective energies, long pent up, are becoming available to be won as part of a process of conscious transformation. The real fighters for progress and social emancipation – those who work for the scientifically guided transformation of our world, and now specifically, for the creation of a Real Democracy, which can be collectively functional, creatively imagining how the potential power of the people can find its necessary expression, and change the world.

The conspiracy of the global elite is being effectively and globally challenged for the first time in a generation, as systemic crisis unravels the web of deceit and obfuscation constructed out of ignorance, superstition, and betrayal. And the contradictions of Brexit contain the material energies of a dialectical moment of development with all its rich potential for revolutionary transformation.

THINGS TURN INTO THEIR OPPOSITE
Of course the counter-revolutionaries are angry and dismayed. The people are on the move, and their consciousness will grow and develop as revolutionary ideas become part of their struggle. Part of that process will be the struggle for Real Democracy, shaking off the “representative” restraints of “parliamentary” dictatorship and bogus manipulations.

The laws of dialectics reveal how matter, thought, and human society, all develop through dialectical and contradictory motion. All phenomena contain conflicting aspects or parts, mutually conditioning and changing each other in an energetic process which reaches a moment of change and transformation. Our challenge now, is to bring consciousness of these objective processes into the conceptions of people and communities, as the old “formal” conceptions are exceeded by the movement of economic, social, and political reality in its historical development.

SO WHAT IS TO BE DONE?
In Ireland, the imposition of a Blueshirt Junta by the Troika, when the people actually sacked Kenny and his gang in February, is an attack on democracy. Austerity is an attack on the right to live. But …

WE HAVE A RIGHT TO LIVE

Responding to this critical failure of a broken system, we can collectively plan to build a Real Democracy, to replace a broken system at war with the people. Meet with others in your community, in your town, village, district, workplace to discuss setting up your own Assembly for Democracy.

We have creative work to do, as this ageing beast of exploitation, inequality, and austerity, begins to lose its power, and break apart at its dysfunctional seams. End the dictatorship of capital.

BUILD A REAL DEMOCRACY!
